Art Prize

Advance Art students traveled to Grand Rapids to attend the ArtPrize. ArtPrize is a competition that exhibits art work of artist from around the world. The art is exhibited throughout all downtown Grand Rapids in public and private venues. The artist are present to talk about their art and to encourage the public to vote for them. Grand Valley University invited students to participate in a art event on campus. From there, students were able to walk downtown to see the art exhibits and to talk to the artists. This gave an amazing opportunity for our students to immerse themselves into the art work and even participate in some social art. To talk to the artist and get the first person experience that you do not get in art museums. To see the different art work that is being done in today’s world and about today’s issues. This brings a connection that our students can then take back to the classroom to influence their own personal art.
