MMSA juniors visited University of Michigan—Ann Arbor on Wednesday, May 17th, 2017. Students took a 60-minute walking tour of central campus guided by a friendly current undergraduate student. The tour showed students the campus and student-friendly town in close-up detail and gave them the opportunity to feel the Wolverine spirit.
The information session designed for prospective students broadly explained the University’s success in the national and world arena. The presenter helped students understand the University’s application and admission process, the important aspects of a candidate’s application, what they look in a student’s portfolio, and how to qualify for scholarships and financial aid. Important deadlines for seniors were outlined and the importance of recommendation letters, essays, and extra-curricular activates was emphasized in addition to strong academic expectations such as AP courses and high SAT/ACT scores.
The students enjoyed an open buffet lunch at the Hill Dining Center and visited student dorms to get a feel for the daily student life at University of Michigan. Their favorite part of the visit might be the delicious ice-cream treat enjoyed at the Hill after a hot day at the campus
