On a cold day in December, the students at Michigan Math and Science Academy created a little electricity. Static Electricity to be exact. Six students ranging from 8th – 10th grade demonstrated their STEM knowledge in front of several community members and parents. Judge Kathryn Viviano, Presiding Family Court Judge of Macomb County, was a good sport and tried one of the experiments herself. Christine Wilton, one of the participants parents, volunteered to lift a chair with only a hook and a little air pressure.
Overall, the event was a nice experience for the students who received feedback from the community members. Everyone was impressed with their knowledge and their public speaking skills.
