Ivy League Mentorship Program (IMP)

Michigan Math and Science Academy has implemented a new program entitled “IMP”. The purpose of IMP is to create a challenge for students, maintain high expectations, improve students beyond their grade level with advanced work and prepare them for college, especially Ivy League Colleges, i.e. Harvard, Yale, Princeton, etc. Students were selected based on their overall grades point average (3.5 or higher), behavior and teacher recommendations.

Students meet every Saturday at 9:30. Since the program began IMP students have gone on field trip to Toledo Imagination Station on October 24th, 2014. IMP students, parents and mentors have had breakfast and leadership seminar on November 8th, 2014. The speaker was Yunus Zeytuncu who is a Math professor at University of Michigan.

Upcoming IMP events are Saturday study session on November 15, IMP Thanksgiving feast, and winter camp (2 nights) starts on December 12th, 2014.
